Personality: Unchangeable, pitiless, and malicious. She's single-minded, deceitful, and conceals everything. Being so begrudging and an accuser like she is, once Bellatrix decides what you are to her, there will be no ifs, ands, or buts. She puts a giant emphasize on the importance of the proper functioning of society and the need to be a responsible member thereof. She's unsympathetic and has empathy for no one but the Dark Lord who she wholeheartedly follows (to death and even after). She'll obtain her needs anyway possible, and will stop at nothing.

The leadership ability and the lofty dreams of Cancer will also be emphasized; as will loyalty (directed for the most part to one's House). Slytherins born under the sign of Cancer will be more hard-shelled and less sentimental than other Cancers, but don't be fooled by their bossy, efficient exteriors. On the inside they are soft and needy, and they learn from a young age to hide this well.

Slytherins born under water signs have another thing in common with each other: keen insight into what makes other people tick. These Slytherins are good at manipulating other people's emotions, and good as well at quickly learning the hidden stories behind the otherwise inexplicable actions of acquaintances. Background: Bellatrix is eldest of the three Black sisters and became very independent at an early age. Unlike Narcissa, who grew up properly, and Andromeda, the bad seed of their side, Bella matured to uphold the family values the way a son should have; taking action and being very outspoken for their rights as purebloods. Her family pride only grew when Adromeda and her cousin, Sirius, turned out wrong. She was quick to disown them.

It may have been the inability to produce a son, or Bella's knack for manipulation that truly won the heart of her father, but eventually she got what she wanted. Bellatrix became enthralled with her father's stories, especially the ones her mother disapproved of him telling the most. By the time she received her letter for Hogwarts, she had acquired an unhealthy obsession for the Dark Arts. It was no surprise that Bellatrix became a Death Eater at such a young age -- she hadn't even graduated Hogwarts when she willingly accepted her Dark Mark.

While Regulus would always be the most favored Black of the family (being the only one suitable for carrying the name), Bellatrix had what it took to carry it the same, if not with more pride. Bellatrix wove a relationship with her little cousin, seeing a large threat lying Sirius. She took it upon herself that he had the same interests she had growing up; it was up to him to choose right from wrong.
